Atlanta radio ratings may 2015

There is an old song, "Slip Sliding Away" which was popular many years ago. But today, in June 2015,
looking at the Atlanta Radio May 2015 numbers, that song should be dedicated to WYAY the so called "All News Station". Yes folks, they are REALLY sliding away.....down to their lowest rating since becoming all news.....1.2 So why keep something like that on the air. What a waste of frequency at 106.7. Cumulus needs to do something....ANYTHING... but their ratings are putting them at #22 in the market. What a shame that this format is still on the air. Give it up, Cumulus, and go back to automated oldies from the
60's and 70's.

Yeah, but how about WGST? They're holding steady with no signs of anyone challenging their position.

Virtual powerhouse...

I guess it's never occurred to Lew and the boys to put up some billboards around town. For a company that relies on advertising as their main source of revenue, Cumulus seems to shun any advertising or marketing of their own stations.

Or maybe Atlanta listeners prefer syndicated and tape-delayed over live and local programming.

Cumulus did promote ALL NEWS 106.7. I remember seeing the ads on Marta buses and trains. They even have a partnership with FOX 5 that gives TV advertisement to the station. Right about now, moving OG 97.9's Classic Hip-Hop format to 106.7 seems to be the smartest idea. Look at V103's #1, 9.0 rating even though they are competing with 8 other Urban stations. They might want to consider that move before Radio One moves their Classic Hip-Hop station, BOOM 102.9 to the 97.5 frequency.

Does anyone know STREETZ 94.5's ratings considering they are broadcasting on 3 different signals???

All-News did indeed have ads on MARTA buses for a short period after it signed on. It also had some billboards, including one along the Downtown Connector. They were discontinued after a fairly short period, but ratings continued to grow, slowly but steadily, until they switched to news-talk.

Personally, having OG 97.9 being transferred to the 106.7fm signal would bring in too much repetition. You would have 104.1 and 107.5 all close together playing similar music. That being said, there are not a lot of open format options to replace News/Talk, unfortunately. But on the safe side, an Adults Hits format could work, perhaps?! However, don't see Cumulus doing that unfortunately because corporate radio is lazy and cheap. So scratch that.

Also 106.7's tower is on the wrong side of town. Just ask Cox's how well 97.1 did when they tried urban. 106.7's revenue might still be OK thanks to the Braves.

IMHO I doubt Cumulus will do anything to 106.7 as long as the Braves are playing due to the many hours the Braves would take away from any new format.

The Fish is slightly ahead of 98.5 with out Christmas music!!

Of course we only have 6+ numbers which has very little to do with revenue.

^^ Rightly so. I enjoyed listening to Power having spent the past five months in Dunwoody. It was that or Star. Q100 sounded dry to me and Power sounded it had a bright future ahead of them. We'll see how the summer books pans out.

It seems like to me that V-103 knows this market wants to broad-based programmed, dayparted, urban contemporary hence why they are back at #1 again. There are even more competing urban stations with niches these days than ever. Those stations will do well in their target demographic, but V has beaten them all at their own strategy of taking it down. I've noticed V is also once again doing their crossover song spins again.
