i think atl radio sux now 2 but the giant show is even worse than trg. and if it was 2000 we would still have 99x so that would be a GOOD thing.

OK, we got BRENT an oldies station. Now let's hope Z90Dave (or one of the CC Latino stations) goes full alt (not AAA) for IYH.

Why the hell don't you lay off me? I have heard people all over the Metro talking about this in a positive way. They are sick as hell of hearing hip hop,rap crap, Country, and top 40, which is basically the same genere.

They love hearing Frankie Valli, Beach Boys, Barry White, The Honey Comb, Stylistics, etc etc. Give it a rest, this is by far the most recogizable music ever made. MAJOR CUDOS TO THE TRUE OLDIES CHANNEL. Some of the artists might be dead, maybe even Shannon, but this is the best change in Atlanta radio in year's.

Frankly, while I like country I didn't like three stations (five if you count the rimshooters) with the same dang playlist. I'm glad to get oldies back in the ATL. I'm with you! 106.7 is now a FM1 preset in the car. (The others are Z90Dave, River, B98.5, Rock100.5, and Majic 102.9, FWIW)

Point was, about the "mother" comment--my point was whoever started this thread (not you) needs to STHU about ATL radio and leave the complaining about ATL radio to us-it wasn't directed to you.

Second point was, let's throw a bone to Inside Your Head. Like I said, with True Oldies and Rock100.5, ATL radio is looking up, IMNSHO, although I am sure IYH will disagree.

If anyone wants to throw ME a bone, bring Cox's Point (80s) format to the ATL...maybe put it on 95.5.

Alas, "recognizable" does not automatically equate to being worth a bucket of warm spit. And history is full of politicians that could be used to prove it.

Don't get me wrong, if Citadel can find a way to make a buck on it, more power to 'em AFAIC. Lord knows there's plenty of room in the Atlanta radio landscape for a reasonably priced ad vehicle.

Try this stream if you want an 80s fix (with some newer stuff thrown in): http://1015thepoint.com/ . MUCH better than CC's old WMAX 105.3.

Speaking of 80s, I have noticed that Rock100.5 is playing a lot less hair metal than when they first signed on playing more classic :-\, "real" metal , and alt rock ; and I heard the Fixx on River , which is awfully new for them. I wonder if the hair metal didn't test well once they got up and running, and if Cox is trying to reduce River's overlap with True Oldies (but then again, River's been on a Beatles kick lately).

It'll be interesting to see how River fares in the next book vs. True Oldies, and Z90Dave does without 99Xcrement. If neither River or Dave do well, they may be on the format hot seat (although River has quite a way to fall for that to happen; Cox would probably change the Beat first if they don't start showing some improvement).
