1948
WSB/ch. 8 (NBC primary, ABC secondary) signs on.

1949
WAGA/ch. 5 (CBS primary, ABC and Dumont secondaries) signs on.

1951
WSB/ch. 8 relocates to channel 2 and drops ABC as secondary.
WAGA/ch. 5 drops ABC as secondary.
WLTV/ch. 8 (ABC) signs on. It was originally intended for channel 2 as WCON, but its owner, the Atlanta Constitution, merged with the Atlanta Journal. Owned by Cox, which already owned WSB, the station was sold and assumed control of the channel 8 transmitter.

1953
WLTV/ch. 8 relocates to channel 11 and changes call to WLW-A.

1954
WQXI/ch. 36 (independent) signs on.

1955
WAGA/ch. 5 drops Dumont as secondary.
WQXI/ch. 36 goes off the air.

1958
WETV/ch. 30 (NET) signs on.

1960
WGTV/ch. 8 (NET) signs on. It is licensed to and originates from Athens, Ga.

1962
WLW-A/ch. 11 changes call to WAII.

1967
WJRJ/ch. 17 (independent) signs on.
WBVO/ch. 36 was planned as an affiliate of the Overmeyer Network, but it never signs on as Overmeyer folded after a month.

1968
WAII/ch. 11 changes call to WQXI.

1969
WGTV/ch. 8 and WETV/ch. 30 become PBS affiliates.
WATL/ch. 36 (independent) signs on.

1970
WJRJ/ch. 17 changes call to WTCG.

1971
WATL/ch. 36 goes off the air.
WHAE/ch. 46 (independent) signs on.

1973
WQXI/ch. 11 changes call to WXIA.

1976
WATL/ch. 36 (independent) returns.

1977
WHAE/ch. 46 changes call to WANX.

1979
WTCG/ch. 17 changes call to WTBS.

1980

WVEU/ch. 69 (independent) signs on.

WGTV/ch. 8 moves its broadcast facilities to Atlanta. Its call changes to WPBS, but goes back to WGTV after negative viewer feedback.

WETV/ch. 30 changes call to WPBA.
WANX/ch. 46 changes call to WGNX.

1986
WATL/ch. 36 becomes a Fox affiliate.

1987
WNGM/ch. 34 (independent) signs on. It is licensed to and originates from Athens, Ga.

1988
WAWA/ch. 14 (independent) signs on. It is licensed to and originates from Rome, Ga.

1991
WAWA/ch. 14 changes call to WTLK.
WHSG/ch. 63 (Trinity) signs on. It is licensed to Monroe, Ga. and originates from Decatur, Ga.

1994
WAGA/ch. 5 switches to Fox.
WATL/ch. 36 reverts to independent.
WGNX/ch. 46 becomes a CBS affiliate.

1995
WATL/ch. 36 becomes a WB affiliate.
WVEU/ch. 69 becomes a UPN affiliate and changes call to WUPA.

1996
WATC/ch. 57 (Religious independent) signs on.

1998
WTLK/ch. 14 becomes a Pax affiliate and changes call to WPXA. It relocates broadcast facilities to Marietta, Ga.

1999
WNGM/ch. 34 relocates broadcast facilities to Atlanta and changes call to WHOT.

2000
WGNX/ch. 46 changes call to WGCL.

2001
WHOT/ch. 34 switches to Univision and changes call to WUVG.

2005
WPXA/ch. 14 becomes and "I" affiliate.

2006
WATL/ch. 36 becomes a My Network TV affiliate.
WUPA/ch. 69 becomes a CW affiliate.

2007
WPXA/ch. 14 becomes an Ion affiliate.
WTBS/ch. 17 changes call to WPCH.

2009

Quick correction: WPXA's simulcast of WKTB-CD is on physical digital channel 51.9.
 
One other correction: channel 36's call upon being Overmeyer affiliate in 1967 would have been WBMO.
