Atlanta's 1010 airing Liberal Talk

I don't think you have to have pipes to be good at talk radio. Bill doesn't have a "junior voice" that many of the up and coming crop of talkers seem to have but he does sound like an adult and his voice is not distracting. I can see where there are many who would not agree with his point of view but he does an excellent job of articulating his positions without sounding like a shill for the Republican party.
I do understand Salem needing WGKA to clear inventory but it seems to me if you're in the radio business the bottom line to achieving fiscal health is building, and keeping, an audience. Why not do the things necessary to create demand for your product?

Sounds like every other liberal talk station in America...... boring idiots talking crap about Mitt Romney, That's all we need, isn't it.
[/quote] And they'll be talking more about Mitt now that Rick Santorum has stepped out of the race.

I'm of the thought that liberal talk either needs to find itself on FM frequencies or push digital media as it's avenue to reach an audience. Embrace a forward thinking attitude and target your audience that way. I tend to think that with conservative talk having been so dominant on AM radio for 20+ years, it only makes sense for liberal talk to try an go FM or new media.

It obviously works on AM in some markets, but I have a hard time believing that it doesn't do well in other markets only because there's nobody there to listen to it. I'm sure the audience is there, they're just not listening on that platform.

Like in the movie, Contact: "You contacted us. We were just listening."

You have people who show up at the polls to vote Democratic because it's the hip thing to do, but otherwise don't eat sleep and breathe politics. No doubt that happens on the Republican side but as a whole conservatives seem to be more engaged in the process as a whole.
