This week, Cumulus flipped their "Journey" station in Cincinnati to country. Think the same will happen with Atlanta's "Journey"? Some had been predicting its demise not too long after it signed on.

I think we're safe, with Kicks being in the Cumulus stable already, unless Cumulus wanted to put a "Legend"-type classic country station in for some reason. That was one of the formats that Cumulus was stunting with on 97.9 on the 99X-to-Journey flip.BRENT said:Country would be a disaster, we do NOT need more Country............. :-X :-X :-X :-X
Not sure why it's so compressed unless it's an artifact of the WWWQ-HD3 airchain and the divvying up of bandwidth among the 3 WWWQ HD subchannels. Could they use some kind of compander to compress it for the HD-3 and then expand it back before sending it out over 97.9?Mr_Winston-Salem said:It's too compressed. 96 or below. I listened today and it's a good, strong signal. With the money spent and the quality of equipment, 97.9 should sound the best in the market. Who uses CDs anymore? Those always broken CD players were almost as bad as reel-to-reel automation.
