Atlantic Broadcasting In New Hands

Troubled Atlantic Broadcasting is now in the hands of Craven-Thompson Communication backed by Palladium Equity partners, accoring to Scott Fybush on Norteast Radio Watch. Scott reports that employees are receiving much overdue raises. I know nothing about the new owners, but Fybush says they are experienced and respected. Now it will be interesting to see what format flips, if any, may be executed although, I suspect, not any time soon.

For whatever it's worth, I've pulled back on the story...Atlantic Broadcasting officials say they're still very much in charge and don't know of any change of control on the part of the bankruptcy court. So, no, there probably aren't any format changes coming in the immediate future.

I've posted a subsequent follow-up: Craven and Thompson were indeed in the building last week, it appears, but only as consultants to Atlantic's lender, not as new owners.

I'd keep the format on WTKU but get some live jocks in there and bring back the guys who were doing the morning show. I'd VT the evening hours and maybe go jockless overnight. WOND is still a money making machine and I'd leave WMGM alone. As fas as 102.7, I think it's still too early and the station never got onto it's feet since it debuted as the crap was hitting the fan and staff had to be cut. I wish all stations involved a speedy recovery.

Speaking of ATLANTIC BROADCASTING has anyone heared of any info on where brett is up to? Does anyone know of the court case against him or has it been settled. Dont want to change the subject of this board but was just wondering if anyone has any info on his where abouts these days???????????

Does anybody know who the new actual owners of the radio stations are now. I'd be curious if any format changes could be forthcoming with the summer around the corner?

There's word on the street that a shifty individual that owns a 9 transistor radio and has been seen in disguise dressed as a kielbasa on the Margate beach under a hot dog cart umbrella hording excessive numbers of mustard packets.

Don't think there are actual new owners yet. From what I understand (and that's very little, mind you) they're still going through the default of the loan, selling of the building and anything else that has to deal with bankruptcy. I think.
