Atlantic Coast Media job fair

It is surprising to me, in this day and age, that any radio station would need a job fair to find on-air talent. It's also sort of refreshing. Any insider scoop on this?

Have you ever thought about pursuing a career in broadcasting, either on the air doing announcing work, in the news, talk, or sales? At Atlantic Coast Radio, we are interested in meeting anyone who might have an interest in working in the broadcasting industry. We are holding a two hour job fair, Friday, November 20th, at the Eastland Park Hotel between 11 AM and 1 PM. Station representatives will be there to meet you and tell you about our stations.
Feel free to bring a resume. The Atlantic Coast Radio job fair, Friday, November 20th, at the Eastland Park Hotel from 11 AM to 1 PM.

Atlantic Coast Radio is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Maybe not so surprising, actually. Due to all the cutbacks, many people have probably decided there are never any openings and don't pursue it anymore. You might just need a job fair to let folks know there actually IS an opening, or multiple ones at that, as this article tends to imply.

My question is: What are they hiring for? We're talking about a group that includes virtually no local programming on any of it's channels. ACR has all satelight driven talk formats and has few employees other than the local shows on WLOB and The Big Jab.

Looking it over again, it does say they are interested in "meeting" anyone, not necessarily hiring them (for all the positions listed). Kind of like a "We're having our job fair now so we can beef up our contact list in case we should make a move to hire later" thing. Maybe.
