ATRAC3 PLUS To MP3 Conversion in Audition

Here's an interesting question...is it possible to open up a file from a Sony Hi-MD Atrac3 Plus directly into Audition, and convert it into a .wav or mp3 file? I tried it, and got nothing but noise. Is there a plug in available? Thanks!
______________

There's no plug-in at this time, nor do I think there will be one.
The Atrac files are used by Sony audio media players. The best way
to transfer is to do it in real time using the output or headphone
jack and do it analog. When in doubt and you can't find a plug-in,
just use the output or headphone jack, but remember to adjust the
levels (output and record) so there wont be distortion.
If you just have the file and no player just go to the Sony Connect
website and download the software, remember when you download
the file you are actually downloading the software to purchase music.
Sony Connect is like Itunes and Napster.
Once you downlaoded the software just do a direct recording from Sony
Connect into you Adobe Audition, you'll also have to do some adjustments
via your soundcards player control.
Also if you need to make a copy of "secure" music just play the file
from it's actual download source into another audio editor, adjustments
will also be needed.

I've been doing that Mike, and it takes forever! I recorded at least 8-10 hours on each disc, so I just let it run in Audition, and use the timer record feature if I'm not around. I actually found a plug in on the internet from some guy in England, but did not download it yet.
______________
