Is WCMT-AM no longer carrying high school football? Or any sports programming for that matter? Judging by their website, it appears that football is strictly on WCMT-FM now. They had simulcast high school football for years!
This can mean only one of two things:
1) Either WCMT is contractually obligated to carry the Dave Ramsey show (which they apparently carry on a tape-delay basis),
OR
2) This is yet another nail in the coffin for AM radio. With high school football being the cash cow that it is, I can't see any station not carrying it, or at least continuing to simulcast it with their FM station. (With as many high schools as there are in Weakley County, WCMT could carry a different game on their AM from what they are airing on their FM, instead of just simulcasting the game from the FM station.)
Evidently, coverage of the UTM Skyhawks has also apparently migrated to strictly one of their FM stations.
