That's a mess. There should be a Rythmic track in between Rob/Mariah, and Maraih/Killers; and why Bobby Valentino? Kind of a stiff. Basketcase? A pretty marginal CHR hit at best, not really worthy of being a Gold track on a CHR. Back-to-back with Bobby? Kinda unfamiliar.

Your last log was mucccchhh better!

Hmmm...

1) I'm not sure I like those stopsets being so close together. In my opinion, they need to be at the top and bottom of the hour only. If you're talking about a live or VT break, that's different, but commercial breaks really shouldn't be that close together.

2) "We Belong" into "Brightside"... please tell me you're going to throw a tempo-changing shotgun in between those two :)

3) I'm not a big fan of the ballad version of DHT. Personally I'd put in a live break after "Basket Case" and have the DJ talk up to the post on the dance version of "Listen".

Otherwise, looks good!<P ID="signature">______________

Are you serious?

Take a suggestion: before you start criticizing what someone's playing on a station in a market you don't even know, you should look at your own list. This is a mess.

Ma$e?? If I had a gun to my head, I'd play "Feels So Good" over that one.

Coldplay into Ma$e into Papa Roach??!
Baby Bash into Rob Thomas??

You want people to listen, don't ya? Yikes.

Hmmm...Don't know. You'd have to ask Tom and Paul at the most listened to CHR station in the world...Z100/NY, since this is actually a sample hour from their station.

:)

OUCH!

I started a thread in NYC about Z100 being a bit all over the place, and this sorta solidifies it. Considering this has been panned by more than one person, it makes you wonder what we really know...although I would agree that Bobby Valentino out of a stopset and then into "Basket Case" is kinda whack...

HA! I was just about to comment to the other guy who criticized "Basket Case" that Cubby Bryant would disagree. I have to admit I was a little suspicious when you panned "Chariot" in the other thread and led off your hour with it in this one.

But yeah, I don't think this is a bad sample hour at all, except for the Bobby Valentino stiff. I think this hour shows a couple things:

1) Regional hits! "What You Want" is huge in the Northeast. I'm sure it tests through-the-roof for Z100 and Q102, but I've rarely heard it anywhere else. "Basket Case" might be a lukewarm gold in other areas, but Z100 played the heck out of it when it was new, and even the kiddies recognize it as a Green Day song.

2) Music scheduling on a pure mainstream CHR is hard. I'd cringe at Coldplay-Mase-Papa Roach, but you have to play Papa Roach somewhere. Coldplay-Mase-Britney-Papa Roach sounds better texturally, but then you've got a recurrent right next to a gold.
