Re: Brian B. Wilde
As I noted in and earlier post (8/4):
<blockquote>
"...dismissing a newly hired PD and having to replace him is a screaming indictment of Entercom's local upper management, which has failed to properly fill a critically important position at a crucial juncture in a station's development.
Two program directors have been released in the last twelve months under much turmoil. The station is under intense scrutiny locally and nationally, to say nothing of the opinions posted in this forum.
WKSE is a heritage CHR station. It cash flows millions. It's a major component in Entercom's local revenue generating scheme and it impacts the company's overall well-being..."
</blockquote>
Brian B. has the experience and credibility to get the job done in Buffalo. Entercom brass appears to have made a mistake in not hiring Brian when they hired Steele.
The salient question is, does Brian actually want to step into this mess or would he prefer to get his first PD gig at a station in another medium market.
Contacts inside 500 Corporate Parkway say dealing with the issues at hand will be no picnic. There's a mess that needs to be cleaned up, there are massive egos that need to be pandered-to on the morning show and there's a sales department that needs to be re-assured. The demands on programming will be enormous, to say the least.
On top of this, you have Entercom-Philadelphia telling the local suits, "You screwed up with Steele and you've got a mess on your hands with Universal... you better get this hire right!"
The pressure is really on, the players are "all-in" and they're playing the game balls-out. Pat Paxon and Bill Pasha from corporate likely will have a big hand in selecting the next Kiss PD.
Brian B., qualified as he is, may not want to step foot into this swamp.
