radioman, try http://www.fmscan.org/ for the signal pattern, http://www.mediumwaveradio.com/uk.php for an aerial shot.
The 1548 transmitter is near Saffron Green, there are four towers in a row, focusing the highly directional signal S/SE mostly into London.
Possibly OFCOM www.ofcom.org.uk - the UK equivalent of the US FCC might have data on UK stations, but I've never looked into that.
