They have also acquired (finally) a legal frequency, on 94.3 which covers part of Madrid (a fairly distant rimshot). The illegal 99.1 remains the main frequency for now, but it does mean that if Spain's regulator does crack down on the endemic use of illegal transmitters (even by major media companies), Loca FM's future is reasonably secure.
Other bits of news gleaned from Spanish sources:
Flaix FM (pronounced Flash FM) has lost it's semi-national network, including the Madrid frequencies, to a rock/sport format, "Rock & Gol", and as a result it has gone back to being a local station for the Barcelona area.
MQM Dance, a pirate on 96.1 in Madrid has also dropped the dance format and renamed to simply "MQM Radio".
On the positive side, Evolution FM, another Madrid dance "pirate", now covers the entire city on 87.5.
