AUDACY CUTS IN HOUSTON

Huh? A “six figure talent” might only be earning $100k/year, which in 2024 is rather paltry.

A “near six figure talent” would be earning $99k/year or less.

$100k isn’t what it used to be.
My bad. Raúl was in the 7-figure range. I get confused when there are too many digits to the left of the decimal point.

If they fired Raúl, in part, due to his million-dollar salary, why would KLOL fire a PD who was likely paid less than a third of that in order to hire a million dollar talent?

Typo, I ment seven figures, Raul is no longer going to get paid a Seven Figure salary anywhere else.

Raul has not seen 7 figures in at least 12 years. I worked with JD and Raul both before JD was let go and I never felt like they were that close sure they were cordial, but I never saw more than that so I'm not sure where you would get that from. Mega is a good bonus for the cluster. I would add that Rauls ''team'' Producers and more are aggressively looking for new jobs.

Wrong.

Yes, JD is later generation Tejano, and does not even speak particularly good Spanish. Raúl es puro regiomontano and a different culture.

Sorry to disagree D.E but I was working with Brindis when his remote fee was reduced and in the next round of cuts his salary was also revised and he took a hit. And this was still where he would still do music logs for KLTN Something he stopped doing a long time ago. When he was still in good terms with Arni and Jesus robles and Basulto where his assistants

I don't recall you as having been Corporate EVP of Univision Radio. People at that level had access to all the P&L's and were part of budgeting for all markets and strategic planning.

The remote fees were reduced company wide, since fewer and fewer clients wanted remotes in the growing Internet era. Also restricted at the same time were direct staff-to-client negotiations on endorsements. Vacation policy was also changed, in part to reflect the schedule of the PPM.

The main thing is that, compared to the pre-recession (2008) years, KLTN is billing about half as much as it was 15 to 16 years ago. In fact, the entire market, in inflation adjusted dollars, is off by about 60% to 65% since 20 years ago.

Back when Univision was a proper company.
It's now part of Televisa, which is the largest TV producer in the world.

And "back then" was when radio had not lost about 70% of its inflation adjusted revenue overall... around Y2K.
