Audacy divestitures coming?

I think that Audacy will divest 2 of its FM radio stations here in Boston and spin them off to religious groups like Traditional Catholic Radio or Brother Scare. It won't happen, but one never knows, do one?

Those organizations don't have a fraction of the money necessary to buy a big Boston FM signal. Stair is dead and his cult is running on fumes, pretty much the same as the late Gene Scott's is.

Gene Scot's wife Melissa is carrying on that tradition, but only heaven knows who or what is paying for the endless reruns of Stair. Perhaps some of the donors / listeners don't know...

>>spin them off to religious groups

Ha, who knows if Audacy might sell off 850 or its FMs to religious groups--I know the latter was said in jest and the former would be more likely...though a few years ago they sent WAAF to EMF. Still far fetched, for now...
I was reading on FB about the tower for WFHM 95.5 in Cleveland, currently running Christian contemporary as The Fish. Unlike WKVB 107.3, WFHM is a commercial station, not non commercial (NCE, fundraises).

WFHM is owned by "Salem Media of Massachusetts" which also owns WROL 950 here. Meanwhile WEZE 590 is owned by "Salem Comm. Holding Corp." Anyway I don't know if "The Fish" _commercial_ Christian contemp would land here somehow...if it were I'd think Salem would want it on an FM.

For now at least Audacy is keeping WEEI 850 with BetQL...while in some places like Las Vegas, some AMs go dark.

the stations might be charging dirt-cheap rates (sorry) for Zombie Stair

While Audacy is doing sports gambling talk on WEEI 850 (ads for FanDrool and GraftKings), the AM signal will be carrying quite a few spring training games--17, with others airing on the FM.
That option won't be around if they sell off the AM...though there's always putting games online or on an HD2 when they're not on 93.7

I used to listen to Glenn Hauser's World of Radio and he'd mention Bro Stair's airings.

Would it better to sell off a whole market or individual stations? If you sell off individual stations, you are only going to get top dollar for the top stations. That leaves you stuck owning the dogs. If you sell off the dogs, you are not getting top dollar. Maybe better just to leave an under performing market wholesale.
