Audacy Launches Over 350 New Digital Music Stations

Here's a sample of what just played on WERT, to give you an idea: Merilee Rush "Angel of the Morning", Les Baxter "The High and the Mighty", Bill Haley & the Comets, "Rock Around the Clock", Four Tops "Baby I Need Your Lovin'", Jobim "Agua de Beber".

After the news, Bobby Darin "Beyond the Sea", Sam Cooke "Havin' a Party", Jo Stafford "Make Love to Me", Andy Williams "Days of Wine and Roses", Impressions "Gypsy Woman", Barry Manilow "I Can't Give You Anything But Love, Baby".

After the commercials, Don Costa "Never on Sunday", Hugh Masekela "Grazing in the Grass", "Sea of Love" Phil Phillips, Nat King Cole "Smile".

And you take issue with Tears for Fears? 😂
Huh? With the people I listed Tears for Fears would require using a hammer to insert that square peg in the round hole.

Now "Head Over Heels" would fit with the WPTX playlist but I still wouldn't like it because of the loud space music at one point.

That list above is what I consider good music.

Here's more from WERT.

McGuire Sisters "Muskrat Ramble"
Petula Clark "Don't Sleep in the Subway"
Frank and Nancy Sinatra "Something Stupid"
O.C. Smith "Little Green Apples"
Oliver "Jean"
Gene Pitney "Only Love Can Break a Heart"
Shep and the Limelights "Daddy's Home"
Dean Martin "The Door Is Still Open"
Dion and the Belmonts "Where or When"
Mac and Katie Kisson "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep"
Frankie Valli "Our Day Will Come"
Ray Conniff "Somewhere My Love"
Dusty Springfield "Wishin and Hopin"
Paul Anka "Goodnight My Love"
Frank Sinatra "Come Fly with Me"

Sometimes it's more conservative than it is at other times. The Kissons song, which I wasn't familiar with, isn't all that pleasant, but it's not exactly outrageous. This list is still more traditional than America's Best Music would be.

What point are you trying to make about WERT? It's obvious what the station is, has been since your first playlist snippet. So why continue to list song after song?

There are different styles of adult standards playlists. There may be a place for these lists on the standards board, to allow people to compare.

For the same reason he used to post regular 'Rush Limbaugh show updates'. Because he 'never listened to the show', but was convinced there was a public service in listening, then updating all of us.

If you're going to spend time listing song titles, why not come down to the "Games" section and contribute to the song title game we have going on there.

I listened to the show. I miss having it on. Whether I agreed with the man or not it was fun to hear him rant.
