Audacy New York

The tower for the Enfield (CT)/Springfield (MA) station is not that tall. Right by the Connecticut River, between that and I-91. It has a lot of power as it overloads a cheap Walkman anywhere in downtown or next door in West Springfield.
In most cases, for determining short-spacing, tower height does not matter, only the class of the station.

Glad to hear they are putting some effort into the Country broadcast. Is there any way it could be rebroadcast on a translator in NJ, or does Audacy already own too many local stations for that to be legal?
A translator does not count against the market cap. However, I'm sure it Audacy had a good translator in NY/NJ, they'd be much more likely to put one of their all-news stations on it.

What about 105.9 FM of Newark/NYC and Hartford? WHCN-FM Hartford has their transmitter on West Peak in Meriden. I will assume it's nulled to the southwest.
WQXR is the weaker of the NYC FM's. I think it protects WBLI 106.1 more than 105.9 in Hartford. WHCN's coverage has a slight but not much null to the SW. I recently watched a band scan video on YouTube from Trumbull where WQXR came in instead of WHCN.

One thing that amazes me is that the 101.1's in both NYC and Philly are 80 miles apart but are both successful in each market, as was for decades.

Both Z100 and 100.3 in Philly are only 80 miles apart as well. However, Z100 is much more successful than Philly's 100.3.

Philly's 100.3 also has a null to the East to protect 100.1 WJRZ. I think 100.3 has seen success in it's past with Y100

Your article is from 2015 and there is no proof, stats or news of a population increase of evangelical Christians in nyc. EMF bought 95.5 because they could and because their goal is to try and spread their message as far and wide as possible. Good for them if that's their objective but the reality is that very few are listening.

I'm sure we can agree on one thing: EMF considers New York City important enough to establish a K-Love affiliate here.

WAWZ FM in nearby NJ, with a format similar to K-Love, but with a much more limited signal, had a .8 overall in the most recent ratings. K-Love on WPLJ, with far superior coverage, could be doing considerably better. But they haven't been making their ratings public.
Of course religious stations are not driven by ratings, but it seems an exaggeration that "very few are listening."

If they pulled in 1.0 I'd be suprised

When K-Love was previously carried on the station now known as 96.7 WARW, which was a move-in from Stamford maybe a decade ago and appears to cover the Bronx, a good chunk of Long Island, and Westchester County with a decent signal, the station for a time was listed on the public PPM 6+ AQH share results.

As I recall, it generally scored around a 0.5 or 0.6 share. Prior to July 2019, the call sign was WKLV-FM.

I have no idea what type of numbers 95.5 FM is pulling with the same format, but if I were to take a wild guess, I'd say a 1.0 share or slightly above.

96.7 was moved in about a decade ago because 96.7 in Port Jervis, NY WTSX FM had to move to Lehman, PA by Stroudsburg, PA.

Irrelevant. They could pull a 0.5, yet if all those listeners in a market the size of NYC were sending EMF money every month to thank them for that daily dose of faith-based positivity they get from K-Love, EMF could accumulate enough cash to buy yet another struggling FM somewhere else. Slickly executed formats with a Christian underpinning are a license to print money because their targeted listeners don't just consider their product nice music or nice talk, but a reassurance that they're on the road to Heaven.

You are right on the money... 25-54 in a 3-month rolling average prior to the Christmas season was a 1.0 in 25-54. The cume is about a half-million, so plenty of potential donors there!

I think that goes without saying. Anyone paying attention knows what EMF is all about

Since EMF also operates WARW 96.7, with a similar Christian music format (Air1), it seems fair to add their ratings to that of K-Love WPLJ 95.5. That should give a more accurate version of EMF's audience in New York. I would expect it is comparable to some of the city's commercial FM stations.

Maybe a 1.3 and suburban based is my guess.
