AUDIO: Bob Johnson's on WROW's "Magic 590/100.5" 2/17/17 + Rant

We'll it's been a long time since my last post from about a year or two ago, so I decided to throw in an aircheck from this past Friday. Here is Bob Johnson, one of my favorites where he counts down the Top 5 songs from one of its feature years, 1978 as heard on WROW's "Magic 590/100.5" from Friday afternoons. I'll give you the rundown.

5. "Sometimes When We Touch" - Dan Hill
4. "We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions" - Queen (Not played)
3. "Just the Way You Are" - Billy Joel
2. "Shadow Dancing" - Andy Gibb
1. "Staying Alive" - Bee Gees

And before I can post a link, I will go into rant mode. When I was listening to the Top 5 songs of 1978 that week, the #4 song that Bob Johnson mentioned was "We Are the Champions" by Queen, and then, the jingle played and then skipped to the #3 song. WTF "Magic 590/100.5"? I know that this station is not playing "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions" by Queen and it was a Top 5 hit in 1978. But you should applaud WBPM for playing a song by Queen called "We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions" and WPDH for playing that song, but "Magic 590/100.5" as I've stated on one of the message boards does not play classic rock like Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Blind Faith and others. Thanks to WGNY-FM's "Fox Oldies", they played the same oldies that "Magic" did along with a mix with classic rock and deeper album cuts in which "Magic" doesn't play album cuts as well. "Magic" does a great job keeping the oldies where they brought some of its audience from "Fox Oldies" and WBPM. As you probably know many times in the past, "Magic 590/100.5" is competing with WGNY-FM's "Fox Oldies" and WBPM. So enough said. Here is a link to this aircheck from Friday afternoons. I have so many airchecks from "Magic 590/100.5" and I will posting sometime soon. I will also post the scoped version on YouTube very soon. Enjoy!

And here is the song that "Magic 590/100.5" should've played it, and it's the #4 song by Queen. Enjoy!
