Audio Engineers of Detroit dot com

AudioEngineersofDetroit.com is the new start-up concept launched two years ago by Michael and Robin Kinnie, just getting on its feet. I have been working with them for several months to develop a 24 hour internet-based broadcast network using top notch industry standard equipment.

They also plan an extensive educational program, teaching hands-on techniques led by industry professionals. I will be in charge of the broadcast curriculum. Everything you wanted to know about radio -- both today and yesterday -- from doing remotes, use of microphones, digital editing and automation software, to building your own station -- whether terrestrial, or internet-based streaming -- will be covered.

I am a former (over 10 years) employee of Specs Howard School of Media Arts (formerly Broadcast Arts) in Southfield, MI. As the schools Chief Engineer, I constructed 25 digital studios under one roof, including 4 campus stations and two internet-based stations. Everything I WANTED to teach at Specs will be covered at Audio Engineers of Detroit.

They had originally planned to rent space at the ill-fated, historic United Record studios in Detroit -- however, with the studio implicated in a Federal drug case, they have severed their ties with the studio. You can still visit their website audioengineersofdetroit.com.

Robin Kinnie is host of her own show, MotorCityWoman, previously heard on WCHB-AM 1200. You can find her on Facebook.

For further information on Audio Engineers of Detroit, visit their website.

I am a Broadcast Engineering consultant, and marketing and audio restoration specialist based in the Detroit area.

Platecap, I presume you envision this more as a continuing education type setup as opposed to primary education for someone wanting to enter the field?
