Audio on 783

Although battling WBBM, I'm getting audio on 783. It's coming in weak, with fading in and out, so I haven't been able to ID it, just yet.

If anyone else out there would like to help trying to nail this puppy down, jump on board and happy hunting!

UPDATE: Arabic music....Syria????

~BG

Confirmed. Syria's Radio 1. Weak, but audible, fades in and out. Really good at the moment. Currently muslim call to prayer is being broadcast.

Stream is here ~> mms://63.243.163.195/radio1 Stream about 10 seconds delay, following MW signal.

There is another TA broadcaster mixing in, as well....

Using DX-440, with internal antenna....I am just floored at getting this signal, with this radio!

That's great - all I was getting last night were hets including 882 and 1341 as new hets. 1323 had some kind of audio briefly [presumed VOR relay] Wachenbrunn, Germany (1269 het presumed Neumünster, Germany was not heard) 1323 has a directional signal, 310° fmscan.org only shows the 220° map. 310° would be aimed more or less towards N. America. 1323 has a TPO of 1 MW, using a 4-tower array, ERP not known.

For more on the Wachenbrunn transmitter site see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wachenbrunn_transmitter

I'm getting some of the Euro hets up to 0600 UTC (No. Illinois) then these start fading out. Lately 1134 Zadar, Croatia has been messed up with IBOC slop. ...);

I'll try 1323 tonight, but I believe it's in a lot of splatter for me here.

With 747 coming in so well, I thought I'd give 783 a try Monday evening. I did pick up het, thinking that it may be Germany's MDR transmittor south of Berlin, but wow, when that Arabic music started coming through last night, I nearly jumped out of my chair.

Active again tonight. Presumed Syria (stream isn't working for me this evening...scroll up for link.), with its Arabic music fading in and out of the het.

Germany's MDR Info (first confirmed catch) is coming in as well, stream here ~> http://avw.mdr.de/livestreams/mdr_info_live_128.m3u .

I'm trying some of stormy's mentioned frequencies, but I'm having difficulting nulling out the semi-locals and the booming WCBS.

Happy hunting!

Strong audio here tonight on 783 making it over the splatter (sounds better tuned to 784). Arabic music heard, stream still not working (for me anyway) to verify against but I suspect Syria. New one for me...
