Audio quality

Okay i'm posting this to both boards, since I have both services.
one thing I don't like about XM is the audio quality. It plain sucks next to AM Stereo on a wide-band receiver or FM Stereo.
Hell mp3's (while a lossy format) sounds better! That's just sad to me. Of coarse I prefer CD (if its gonna be digital), or vinyl and cassette for analog)
Do the new 2.0 receivers have any better sound quality?
For the record I'm using an XM Roady.

Plug it into your stereo. The FM transmitters on these radio receivers are quite narrow and useless after the FCC determined they can't do much of what they should.

Subscribe to the online service and listen off the internet. The audio quality from SiriusXM Online is noticeably better than what you hear from either Sirius or XM tuners.

Some of the company's recent moves suggest that it considers internet and mobile devices to be its prime money-makers down the road, with relatively ancient radio technology playing less and less of a role.

Too bad many of us do not have unlimited data plans on our mobile devices!

Sirius-XM sounded great when it was coming out of my DirecTv receiver and a fiber cable into my stereo. It sounds ok with my XM SkyFi plugged into the stereo. I think coming out of my iphone it does sound better than the satellite. One of the pubs I goto always has Sirius-XM playing. It sounds really good. I assume they used to have XM coming out of one of the many DirecTv boxes they have for Sunday Ticket but, they stayed with Sirius-XM even when DirecTv took it away. I guess now just either a Sirius or XM sat receiver plugged into the stereo or one Dish Network box for Sat radio? I doubt the Dish network box since they need to have both DirecTv and Xfinity in the bar since we're in Philly and there is no local sports nets on the dishes here. I doubt they'd spend the money for 3.

Amazing. so everybody is gonna be expected to stream via online in cars, out of cars and etc? what about those that do not have unlimited data planns, or just prefer a simple radio.
Tough luck on them i guess at some point. That seems to be the way its moving.

I'm not dropping the cash for an unlimited data plan on the phone and since I'm subscribed only to the online streaming service (for home listening) and I won't be reactivating any of the radios due to the low audio quality standards, SiriusXM has effectivly lost me as a mobile customer (I'll continue to use my MP3's while on the road).
