Audio Question

Wondering what audio Skype broadcasts in? 64? 128? lower or higher?

Trying to find out an easy way to stream audio from location to another. Say from a nightclub to a studio location. Anyone have any idea's other than Skype? I would like to use an audio level 128 or higher

Seems the easiest way to send audio-only would be Shoutcast; a friend uses Windows Media to get audio from the back-room computer to the DJ booth at his club... I hate the idea that he's using any compression at all, but I have to admit it sounds just fine...

If you have DSL or a Cable connection do a shoutcast stream in HE-AAC v2 format.. at least 32 kbps... and you'll have decent sounding audio.

xmusicmatt,
I have a station on live365, kiss country. I am currently on itunes and am looking to add other points of distribution using the feed from live365. Is this possible? And if not what would be your suggestion as to keep ALL the points of distribution/ streams the same for the lowest cost possible??
Anyone with ideas and or suggestions please chime in!!
www.radio45503.com ........ my stations website all hosted by live365 but with listen live buttons on the site. I am new at this......

Technically, yes. But it's difficult due to the Live365 login and the occasional changes of IP address of your station.

Legally, NO. That would violate the Live365 TOS. They could/would drop your station. Plus (or Minus) your other "points of distribution" would not be licensed by ASCAP/BMI/SESAC/SoundExchange. It may take a while but you could expect a cease and desist letter. Maybe even a monetary legal judgement.

Then I am NOT doing it. If there is a legal liability, then the heck with it. Live365 has me on itunes, so that should be good right? I am assuming yes. Thanks for setting me straight!

Live365 does not permit outside folks from tuning into their stations unless you go thru their directory (they do allow a few limited stations in itunes that THEY Approve that are of the PRO nature) -- if you list yourself anywhere else your running risk of live365 cutting you out (unless your A PRO Broadcaster with Live365 paying your own ASCAP/BMI/SESAC/Sound Exchange fees..
