Audio Skipping v3 - Soft analog death

For a week or two now I've heard random drops of audio for a second or so, and started thinking maybe
Windows and Zara had finally painted up the memory after don't know how many months.
Took care of the reboot but problem continued until 2 days ago when it worsened, and did not care what source
to the "board" was selected.

Turns out to be one of my favorite devices, a "ahem" Radio Shack variable cut DNR filter they sold back
about '83 and is still useful in my on-air chain.

Filter cap looks ugly on both ends. Looks like full wave but using only 1 filter cap?
470 @ 35 and I guess as is gone out, the DC levels have dropped so far the the digitally adressed
analog gates in here were dropping output or latching. Very weird at first, as a random thing affecting a digital device.
Gotta get that fixed right away. I miss being able to sharp-focus the sound with it.

Only had about 1 confusing hour of fractured audio during this, it was fun allright.
Glad it was not on overnights where it would be dead carrier until 8:30 AM.
