I notice that some analog balanced audio switchers allow for a 600 ohm termination, on inputs, when those inputs aren't selected (as an output) on the switcher. I'm just wondering what the benefit of this is. Is this mainly intended for equipment that has transformer outputs, feeding the switcher inputs? Or is there a benefit to terminating low impedance output op-amps, that do not feed a high impedance input? IMO, I have noticed some analog balanced audio switchers have a problem with crosstalk between channels, mainly at high frequencies. Would terminating the unused/unswitched switcher inputs help cure this problem? I probably have a number of analog distribution amp outputs that aren't being used, and are not terminated. I hope I'm explaining myself correctly.
