Audio: WTYO 1580 ("We Turn You On") - 5.21.86

I guess WTYO was a MOR station? On this day, they played everything from Alan O'Day and Captain & Tennille, to Billy Ocean and Force MD's! And the jock teased Hall & Oates and Stephen Bishop were going to be played, too! Exactly how long have they been operating with this format?

Also, at the start of the clip is a few minutes of the same frequency as WRDI.

Hah ... that's Jim Rodio on the WRDR "Saturday Night Bandstand" (WRDR now SoJO 104.9)
That show was pre-recorded on reel to reel by Jim, and the board op would play the music.
Note him telling the kid what to do at 8 O'clock ... that wasn't supposed to be on the air
and gets potted down real fast.

I saw Jim before Christmas, he came down to the station to record a spot for his
brother Ronnie's Garden Center. Still smooth and one take.

Ah, the golden age of radio! Nice catch!
