Audioarts R-16 (or R-10): Need Schematic

Hello,

The ability to listen to PGM, AUD, or EXT (basically non-CUE) in the headphones of our R-16 ceased to work. It looks like it could be related to the CUE switch being thrown or another audio routing issue. Basically, you can hear everything through CUE on the headphones, but not PGM, AUD, or EXT when CUE is out.

I'm guessing that this would be a quick fix if I had a schematic for the CR-10 module.

After some Google searching, I came up blank. Any help from the community would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the R-10 and R-16 are one and the same minus a few channels.

Brian,

Have you called us? 252-638-7000. We have never dropped support for a product -- ever.

Just did - and got a very fast response. I now have a fax of the schematic.

Excellent service.

The best. They even were kind enough to stop putting silly passwords etc. on their manuals so you can now get them online. For those of us out in the field needing immediate help at places where we haven't been before after-hours, that's huge.

Thanks, OKC. I was the project manager for the web site redesign and I'm now the webmaster, so if there's anything you can't find or that isn't as accessible as you'd like, let me know and we'll fix it up.

One of the primary reasons I usually stick with Wheatstone/Audioarts consoles (apart from their initial quality, price point, etc) is that their support can't be beat. They have ALWAYS come through for me.

Thanks Scott! Me too on the vote of confidence for Wheatstone/Audio Arts. I have R-55e's that have NEVER FAILED after over 6 years of service. NEVER. I had a R-60 that was pretty much destroyed by lighting at a client that decided they could plug it directly into the wall. (silly them... I had it on protected power before and they moved it) A guy at Audio Arts spent about two hours with me getting a parts list together of all the chips etc. which I needed to justify a new console. Guess what's setting there now? :)

I've not needed to do any maintenance or repairs on an Audioarts console for a LONG time (testament to their quality) but I just had a quick look at the downloads section and noticed there's no manuals listed for older consoles, such as the R-16 / R-10 (as Bryan above needed).

Scott, can you set up a 'legacy manuals' section with complete PDFs of manuals for older units?

If I get called out at 2am, it's more likely to be to an older console than a relatively recent one.

Thanks!

We do have such a section on each of our brand sites. Pull down the "SUPPORT" menu at the upper right corner of the main page, and select "All Downloads." Scroll to the very bottom; there's a section called "Legacy Product Downloads."

There are some manuals (such as the R-16 / R-10) that we don't have in PDF form because they pre-date that system. (Some very old ones were prepared with a typewriter, not a computer!) To put these online, we would have to have an employee scan each page, including the large-size drawings, and the demand for those older manuals has not been high enough to justify that. However, as in the case that started this thread, we're always here to help, and we can fax you what you need in most cases.

Thanks Scott. I didn't see that section before, is it a new feature? I'm sure I checked around but couldn't find anything..
Anyway, that's a great facility and very much appreciated.

It's not new; it's been there since we launched the remodeled web site in November, 2010. However, your question does tell me that I need to make it a bit easier to find, and I'll work on that.

There's also a search function on each brand site, so if you're looking for something specific, you can often find it that way as well.

The D75 may just be the best "budget" broadcast console ever. Not to sound too much like a fan boy, but I have an Audioarts polo and a Wheatstone hat that I unashamedly wear on a frequent basis. Great company.

I totally agree. It's so flexible, although almost all of my sources are AES, it's nice to know it's just a daughterboard swap to change to Analog or AES. The price point of that board is spectacular and it just runs.

We had one problem with the first one randomly popping. Called them, they sent a new ribbon cable (for free, of course) and never another problem.

"Legacy Product Downloads" now has its own menu item under "Support" on all five of our brand sites. Thanks for the input! I know where everything is, so sometimes I don't notice something's hard to find until someone doesn't find it!
