Audioarts R60 and phone calls

I'm interested in knowing the different configurations different engineers use for using the R60 console and a Gentner. Who all uses this board/configuration? And, how are you using it for phone calls?

I suppose there's several ways to do things, but what I did at a smaller station that had a R-60 was to get a little Henry micromix and make a perminent mix-minus by mixing in the audio right off the mic preamp board. It was pretty crude, but since it was at a small Mexican-ran radio station, having less options for that bunch to screw things up was the BEST option for me. Since the console didn't have an easy pre-fader option, it seemed the simplest. The micro-mix fit right under the meterbridge just sitting in there.

Good luck!

We go from the (3) mics to a rack mount Sure SCM268 mixer.

Sure SCM268 output to a Symetrix 528E Voice Processor.

Balanced output of Voice Processor to Mic Fader on R60.

Unbalanced output of Voice Processor to the mic input of a Gentner DH20.

Caller Out of the Gentner to the Phone Fader on the R60.

Mix Out on the Gentner to whatever you are using to record the call. We use a 360 Systems Shortcut or CoolEdit Pro. Jocks Choice.

This also allows you to keep your "Caller Fader" in Cue and answer your calls by simply speaking into the mic and hearing the caller through the Cue Speaker.

For multiple lines on the Gentner DH20, we use the Gentner 5 line Teleswitch which has Conference and Hold features. Your lines go into the teleswitch and it has a single RJ11 to the Gentner. there is also a DB9 that turns the Gentner DH20 ON when you answer a line and OFF when you hang up.

That's how we do it and there are many more ways as well. FYI and good luck!
