Audition question

I'm having a problem with Audition's temporary files or something like that.

Before I do anything, it says I have 64.24GB free

I do a multitrack session. Then I save whatever I'm doing to another hard drive (Not the one Audition is installed on/saves its temp files)

I close the program (select NO on saving any of the temporary/etc files)

I open the program again, it says I have 64.23GB

So I keep losing some HD space everytime I run Audition. Anybody know whats wrong? I thought it was the temporary files but I found nothing in the temporary folder.

PK files maybe? You can disable them, but I don't recommend it. What are you doing with Audition when you use it? I can't imagine that a PK file would make a measureable difference on your HD space unless you're working with 100 HUGE files....

Loading MP3 files into Audition (Audition loads them as temporary wav files) making a mixdown (In multitrack) Saving the mixdown in MP3 format to another hard drive. Closing Audition. Normally when I close Audition and select "no" on saving the temporary files the drive space on C: goes back to the way it was. Now its losing space everytime I run a multitrack session in Audition and the space isn't returning once I close the program and select "no" to saving the files.

I recently got a new computer in here. Not long before I got it I was working with an old Compaq from 1999 and Audition ran normally. Not long before I switched over to this one Audition did the same thing. I had the old computer's hard drive reformatted and it went back to normal.

I would do the same here but I don't have the ability to reformat the new computer's hard drive.

Have you tried simply defragging the drive?
