August PPM

Wow...93.3 WODC up again, all the way to 7.4 share 6+, #3 in the market after NCI & COL!  Even if you consider that only listed stations are shown, it's likely that 93.3 is still 3rd, maybe 4th, or at worst (and less likely) 5th.

TVN's drop is clearly real, as they are stuck at 5.7 -- third month in a row below 6.  I wonder if NPR is taking away some of their less-hardcore-conservative listeners, as both NPR stations have been trending up?  Columbus has the odd situation with NPR being split between two stations.  I realize they don't simulcast all day, but if you add their shares you get 4.4.

LVQ and RKZ both still stuck below in the mid-3's.  Time for changes?

It doesn't look as though one can get a Columbus ratings chart through radio-info.com anymore, so where can I go to find one, Nu Roo?
I'd like to be able to keep up with how well all my friends are doing. ;)

Three weeks ago, Mike Elliott the WTVN PD gave Joel Riley some good news on his morning shift.
Joel said he told him he has the highest rated morning show in all of Columbus radio.
So, what is causing WTVN to be stuck below 6 if Joel Riley has such high ratings in the
morning drive? I said last year WTVN's numbers would start dropping when Joel Riley started doing mornings on WTVN. That is what I would contribute the drop in the overall ratings but I'm must be wrong. Joel Riley is doing a great job on the air, I'm just not a hugh fan of his.

Maybe people in this market are getting tired of Rush, Glenn and Sean -- and/or Corby.  Also, while another thought is that some of their listeners have passed away since they have a lot of older men -- who are not being replaced by new listeners -- I think that would have made for a more-gradual slide.  Would also be interesting to see the Fan's ratings to see if they may have eaten into WTVN's shares.  Finally, since WODC also reaches into the upper demos, maybe they're stealing some from WTVN, especially since that music has been absent from any big Columbus signals for years and thus could have even greater appeal.  All of this -- plus a possible move of less-hardcore-conservatives to NPR (as I theorized before) could be offsetting Riley's performance.

While there are several sources, some of which people have already listed, All Access is probably best because they (a) include cumes as well as shares, and (b) list a full six-month trend instead of the usual three.  BTW, a few more include http://www.****************** and http://**************** (which I notice excluded WJKR).  All the sites that require one-time registration (like All Access) are still free and open to anyone.

I have been tired of Corby for years.

"Hi, this is Corby. On tomorrow's show, if you have ever passed gas, call in and tell us!"

WMNI-FM 0.8 0.8 0.2 0.6 All News North American Broadcasting Company Inc

Low Ratings because it has an ARNN affiliation.
and its politically loaded news from TRN.

You forgot to include "if you ever passed gas on a first date, call in and tell us!"

How is WVKO-AM doing with its new talk format? Don't see them listed.

Not listed because they don't buy the ratings.

I don't think they showed up even before the public ratings went subscriber-only back in March. Either there wasn't enough listening as of March to show up in the PPM, or (less likely?) they weren't encoding (or had the encoding screwed up).

Hopefully Bernard won't renew his contract at the end of this year and he'll move back to Cleveland. :fingerscrossed:

Why would you not want Bernard to renew his contract? For me, all the chronic technical problems are annoying, not to mention all the dead air ect. All these glitches you won't hear over at
WTVN but then they have their act together over there. At least they have made great strides in
rectifying the garbled audio and that was very annoying to me! Like they say over at WVKO-AM,
we are only trying to give the format a voice and I have no problem with that as long as the audio sounds good and I can accept the fact it is basically a one man show over at WVKO-AM. That way, I can't expect perfection from WVKO-AM and can still appreciate the station for what it is.

I give them credit for trying to do something that isn't being done in this market.. at least it's not another conserve talker, or sports station, or classic hits station or Spanish station or another format we already have... at least it's another voice.

Speaking of other voices, the one belonging to Amy Goodman (host of "Democracy Now!", the award-winning independent news program that airs Monday through Friday on WCRS at 5pm) will be heard at the First Unitarian Universal Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd., tomorrow afternoon at 3:00. She'll be talking about her new book, The Silenced Majority: Stories of Uprisings, Occupation, Resistance and Hope, with co-author Denis Moynihan. There is a $10 suggested donation to benefit local community groups, but nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds.
