August ratings

Like I predicted, WLW went up to over a 13-share (13.5) thanks to the Reds.
WRRM continues to increase ratings (4.5, 5.2, 5.7 over last three months), while WREW continues to drop (4.0, 3.9, 3.6).
WEBN (3.8) beat 96ROCK (3.1) for the third month in a row.
ESPN 1530 dropped again, now at a 0.6 on a 50,000 watt signal. Fox Sport 1360 is a 0.1, lower than WMKV.

WQRT (Real Talk 1160) still not visible, though I had read a month ago they were pondering subscribing for just their station but not sister station 1050-am.

WAKW isn't visible either, even though owner Pillar of Fire subscribes to Arbitron in other markets.

How's Great Country 94.1 doing? They are running with no jocks now. i'm betting Cumulus is about to flip it again soon.

New PD is from a Detroit COuntry station and is doing afternoons.

They are not flipping.

This is Cumulus. They will flip when the opportunity presents itself. I give Country another 6 months tops. The new PD won't have long to turn their ship around.

Great Country 94.1 is 2.3, 2.3, and 2.4 over the last three months. B105 is 8.4, 8.9, 8.4. B105 flanker 97.3 The Wolf is 1.1, 1.2, 1.2

Exactly. Will last as long as Journey. In fact, Journey reached a 3.0 if I remember right. That frequency is cursed. Great Country is doing worse than what Journey did... and 97.3 being a flanker makes sense but I'd still use that frequency for something else too.

WEBN used to be a solid top 5 station for decades.

What would it take to tweak it to get it back there???

I was pleased to hear Joel Moss' name at the end of the fireworks soundtrack. He's a great talent.

How about some opinions on this...Is Ernie "The Fat Man" Brown still in town?

Would tightening up the format with some mature talent and music make it roll again??

Remember Robin Wood in a boxing ring in short shorts???

Does attitude and publicity stunts really cost all that much???

Just thinking out loud...would love to hear some thoughts on this.

Nothing lasts forever but it is hard to watch a classic rust and fade.

"The Fatman" is doing 9a-2p on 97.3

Glad to hear the Fat Man is still at it!

Well WEBN was known as an AOR station...what about playing the whole new Nickelback album (since they don't have "sides" on a CD)

I like the older stuff and you have to incorporate it since we are going for the whole 25-54 male demo...but Stairway does get old after a while.

Lots of good music made between 1968 to 1988 that could be blended into satisfy us geezers.

I would just love to see the station pranking and aggravating again....

Would love to hear some thoughts.
