AUGUSTA RADIO RATINGS......

I know that it's only updated like, 2 times in a whole year (or something)...but, shouldn't it be coming up soon? Or what exactly is the time frame that these ratings are done and posted?

Thanks  :)

Last year the link showed up in Tom Taylor's newsletter on Aug. 12.

http://www.******************/ratings.asp?market=305 WBBQ re-claims # 1 .....

They're kinda hard to go by since none of the Perry stations (most notably Foxie 103) show up.

WZNY is trailing behind WHHD, but I like their music mix more. Not a very good book for Power 107

WBBQ could use some competition again. I can't believe such a dull AC is #1! Beasley should have tried AC again on the 93.9 signal instead of Bob, but it doesn't look to be doing poorly...

WBBQ screwed up years ago by going A/C if you ask me. They could have evolved into an Adult CHR and gotten rid of some of the clutter. My preference would have been for them to remain CHR. But nobody asked me....

I could NOT agree more! Listen to CC's "Lite" in NYC...or even B106/Columbia, B98.5/Atlanta, WSPA/Greenville-Spartanburg, etc! WBBQ is like easy-listening compared to most other AC's!

(without getting on my soapbox)....WBBQ should have stayed with...(or come back to) being a HERITAGE CHR/Top 40! If you don't think it would've worked, then, look at this list.....

WNOK/Columbia (Still CHR, since 1976)
WABB/Mobile (CHR since 1980)
WFBC/Greenville (a few changes over the years but remains a strong CHR since about 1976)
WHYI/Ft. Lauderdale (CHR since 1972)
WSSX/Charelston (CHR since....hmmm, about 1981)?

...(at last but not least)...

WAPE/Jacksonville (STILL CHR since.....what?....like 1930???)....lol. (When it was on AM 690)...STILL CHR after almost 70+ YEARS!!

ditto that.... the Q should have stayed CHR....it was a sad day in Augusta radio when that switch happened... :(

Speaking of the Perry stations, I wonder how much longer they will keep WAEG with the smooth jazz format? With stations all over the nation dropping the format, Perry must really be commited to it. Just wish it was a local station instead over a sat feed. ::)

I hope they keep it....satellite or not it has a good mix...

I don't really know what could be done with 92.3, since Perry Broadcasting is mainly a Urban-formatted company. I don't think the market needs or could support another Urban station. They likely keep smooth jazz from BA's satellite because it's cheap and they may make some money from it.

The only thing I could see would be simulcasting with 96.9 to improve its signal.
