Augusta Radio

Scoping the Augusta stations lately, there are some really solid ones to listen to. HD 98.3, 93.9 The Drive, and 95 Rock.

HD 98.3's jocks sound fun and their music mix is solid. I love that they carry OHP on weekends. Compared to my local CHR (WNOK), WHHD 98.3 is far more superior. Beasely has some other great stations as well. 95 Rock is in your face and their playlist is outstanding. They promote their shows well and are able to help promote some big rock acts coming to the area. One other is 93-9 The Drive. Granted, their are no jocks, but their playlist is divided between classic hits and classic rock. When they first signed on, they were geared more towards "Classic Hits", but now they promote themselves as playing the "Classics".

When it comes to Clear Channel, Power 107 and Eagle 105.7 are great stations. I noticed also in the past few weeks that WKSP 96.3 Kiss-FM and WEKL Eagle 105.7 are now broadcasting in HD.

Augusta radio sounds more alive lately than my hometown stations in Columbia, SC. All of this is of course just my opinion.

there is nothing exciting about augusta radio unless you know someone who can get you on that golf course. it is funny what we think is important.

Hey I resemble that remark! I've been on that course many times. I've had some fun in others places around Augusta too. You just have to know where to hang! :D Augusta radio is as good as many markets. There a lot of bare-boned, budget-whacked stations across the country, so unfortunately radio is not as exciting as it used to be anywhere these days.

I have to agree.
Augusta radio used to be interesting, but it's gotten pretty boring in recent years. I guess the listeners enjoy it, but it's never seemed very appealing to me.

Did Perry Broadcasting destroy the former Radio One stations? I remember where FOXIE 103.1 JAMZ (now 103 JAMZ "The FOX") was the big dogs in town. Clear Channel's POWER 107 has really taken over. I jus saw the 12+ numbers, so i'd assume POWER 107 is kicking some butts in the CSRA?
