Auroral Storm this week?

An auroral vent with a possible northern lights display has been predicted for the northern U.S. this week, a according to several news reports. Although some of the later accounts are backing off somewhat from earlier predictions.

Are any of you guys noticing anything? I checked my "canaries in the coal mine" last night and got mixed results, KDAL, WCCO and CBW were all considerably weaker than usual. CFRY was totally missing. But CJOB and CKDM were each just about normal. I think tonight is supposed to be the peak of the solar storm, so I plan to check things out again.

We'll see how many canaries the C Crane Skywave can catch!

Update....

I think the anticipated auroral event has turned out to be pretty much a bust as far as AN DXing is concerned Conditions this morning an hour or so before dawn seemed to be more or less back to normal in most instances. WCCO was blasting, CFRY and KDAL were missing, but the rest of "my canaries" from up north were basically chirping as normal.

I was hoping for some new DX from points south, and I still haven't totally given up on that idea. I'll try to keep after it from time to time over the coming weekend.

Didn't notice any auroral conditions the past couple of evenings.... Iowa was showing up on the X-band (1700 KBGG, 1650 KCNZ), not terrifically readable, but showing up the same. California wasn't enhanced here in my corner of the US (WA).
