Austin Hill - - The LA Version

I've heard Austin at KFI filling in, and he does a good show.

Which makes the Liddy and Austin experience all the more painful to listen to.

I hope he gets a good show, where his talents are utilized.

He's better as a solo than with G. Gordon Junior. He was quite good at the old KTKP even though I didn't always agree with him. Maybe TMISU can find a spot for him on KTAR-FM, say, from 1 to 4 PM weekdays. And without Liddy.

That would be interesting. Hill going up against Hannity with local topics.

That goes without saying. Hill does great by himself. I went to his website. On the front page, there is no mention of Mr. Liddy. Hmmm...

TMISU would do well to swap McBland for Hill.

..or Mike Broomhead...or Joe Crummey...or John Hook...or about a dozen other names Nurse Jeff and I could mention. The momentum Aunt Carlos has given News 92~three, where Hip Hop used to live, is reversed and put in a time warp whenever Captain Stupor is on.

"momentum" ? I guess discussing whether you "consider Phoenix a big city" or such exciting topics as "I just moved here, what are some good restaurants and what are your moving experiences" then sure he gains momentum. I think ditching Aunt Carlos, bringing in Austin Hill and barring McBland from entering the building while throwing out the coffee-talk topics would all be positive moves.

Shirley, you jest! Aunt Carlos is at least a 1000% improvement over McBland in mornings. The noon-snooze block only makes sense to TMISU as it gives their 50 person news staff something to do after AMD and serves as camouflage for the ancient Paul Harvey. Retiring Captain Stupor, banning "toaster talk", and putting a talker in PMD with a less formal news format makes sense to Nurse Jeff and me. Then they can rethink the five hours of kindergarten radio that starts at 7pm!

Heard Hill in LA on KFI recently...he was very good. Sounded totally different than he does here in town.

Agreed, KTAR would do well to pick up Hill when they're "done" with Pat McMahon...or hook him up with Foglesong. Whatever he does, he'd be smart to do it without that other guy...what's his name?

Actually, I'm surprised KFYI hasn't wooed Hill back for another shot at a "local" afternoon show...he did well there.

Meanwhile, it's fine with me if the Liddy trainwreck stays right there at KKNT, so he can remind us everyday that he used to be in the Marine Corps...and oh yeah, his Dad is G. Gordon Liddy....and btw, did you know his dad is G. Gordon Liddy....did you know his Dad is G. Gordon Liddy?"

Hey, Liddy...we know.

Austin is a very talented individual, and deserves to be recognized for his efforts. I wish him all the best in his future endevors.
