Austin needs a mynetTV

I would like to see Austin have a mynetTV instead of in with CW. I would think KNVA could split to a SD channel and have MyTV programing on .2. I would think Austin is big enough to have 2 separate programs.

Is Austin the largest DMA in the country w/o a MYNT affiliate? We even have LP/DT2 here in lil' ole' Tyler-Longview, and we are like DMA 110.

According to wikipedia: ''Starting September 28, 2009, MyNetworkTV is scheduled to drop its status of a television network and transition to become a syndication programming service, reminiscent of the Universal Action Pack and Warner Bros.' Prime Time Entertainment Network.''

I read about that a couple of months ago on My Network TV, Austin's DMA is large for another station to have a My Network TV affiliation or an independent/general entertainment like the old KVC 13 did. I'm just curious when Fox owned KVC with KTBC that they didn't move it to a sub channel on Ch. 7. I'm not sure if KTBC signed on a digital signal at the time when they signed off for that to happen. Maybe someone can give us the info on this as far KTBC signing on it's digital signal.

IIRC K13VC lost channel 13 when it was assigned to KAKW for their digital channel. KVC applied to change channel and was denied and TW dropped it, too. And you are correct. There was quite a gap between the time KVC had to sign off and KTBC put its digital signal on the air. You might also recall KTBC initially had a pretty puny temporary digital signal on channel 56.
