comments, suggestions are always welcome, thanks captex.

i do agree, it put kvet up for the long term or the short term. only a couple of more books will tell. i also see alot of stations going up and down. some of them are stable.

Don't forget KVET is the Longhorns station.
You'll usually see them climb in the fall months with that kind of cume into the mix.
Can they keep things interesting in the long term? That is the question.

Remember that Sam was fired on October 30 and this trend only goes into mid-November. I don't think his firing is going to be reflected until next month. I think by mid-November there were still lots of people listening to see what Bob said about it, what the station was going to do, to see if Sam was coming back, etc. I think (hope?) the next one will show some drop because of the loss of Sam, Janice Williams and the music changes.

Always keep in mind that...

A) This is a trend, not a book..(Arbitron says that these mean nothing, and shouldn't be used for sales) - when they are finally factored into a book, the numbers are usually changed and updated...

and B) These are 24/7-12+ ratings...

Trends can often be wildly different than the book that they are supposed to add up to.. Arbitron tweaks the way they get their ratings every trend, based on population changes and demo of the collected diary-returners... Since these are 24/7-12+ ratings, it's almost impossible to see exactly which day parts brought things up, or pulled them down (can't post daypart ratings here)... When KHFI hit #1 earlier this year, it was all Bobby Bones - the rest of the station was fairly low.. The reason KASE is so consistent when it comes to being in the top couple of spots is because they're fairly flat across the board rating/daypart wise -> every day part is pretty equally strong...

That being said... I predict that by the spring book, KVET will tumble.. Tom Allen (gulp) is the one consistent piece, but i doubt he'll be able to hold them up by himself...
