Austin September PPMs

Talkradio...
It looks like KXBT saw their numbers nearly double after dumping talk for oldies.
But what I found interesting was that talk competitor KJCE 1370 took a huge hit rather than pick up orphaned talk listeners.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The Spirit...
Seems to finally have taken off. Not sure they're doing anything really different, but their AQH jumped 66% in September.

KVET...
Got its expected bump as A-town's biggest sports franchise, Longhorn Football, brings them more ears.

Spanish language radio...
La Zeta continues to build cume and AQH as the format leader...
But Univision's combo add up to actually top the format leader in AQH and cume.
Also noticed that Encino's Tejano and regional AM's saw an uptick in listenership.

How come BMP's Spanish translators don't show up in the ratings? I bet Fiesta Mexicana may have a few listeners. And how's 92.5?

Isn't it beginning to seem like the talk radio on now is beginning to be on the back side of the bell curve as far a popularity goes? I mean the established stations seem to be holding their own klbj here in Austin sits comfortably in the mid 6's, woai is in the mid 3's (which I found suprising, but) has an fm political talker really worked in these two markets? Sports talk yes, kind of, but political not so much, sometimes I get the feeling that most folks are just plain tired of the same old complaining and whining and griping that you hear.

Technically I don't think 97.1 is a Border Media station. I believe 97.1 and 106.5 just lease HD2 channels from Border Media to feel the analog translators, a loophole that allows them to get around the ban on translators orginating their own programming.
