Sinclair Broadcast Group is buying the Four Points Media station group from Cerberus Capital Management for $200 million, Sinclair announced today.

The group comprises seven stations in four markets, reaching 2.65% of U.S. TV households.

The stations:

* KUTV(CBS)/KMYU (MNT) Salt Lake City (DMA 32)
* KEYE(CBS) Austin, Texas (DMA 44)
* WTVX(CW)/WTCN-CA(MNT)/WWHB-CA(Azteca) West Palm Beach-Fort Pierce, Fla. (DMA 38)
* WLWC(CW) Providence, R.I. (DMA 53)

(sorry for the long link)

i know this a tv site, did sinclair once owned 103.5 in san marcos/austin or some other austin radio station.

This is a terrible move! Doesn't Sinclair already own KABB in San Antonio? Isn't there some sort of Overlapping ownership rule, since both markets are right next to each other?

Furthermore, I hate the graphics package that Sinclair has on most of their stations. Cheap cameras and on-air graphics just don't do the trick.

Separate markets. For instance Belo owns both KVUE in Austin and KENS in San Antonio.

I thought KEYE was a CBS O&O at first...

It was under CBS ownership between 2000 and 2007. Granite Broadcasting had it prior to that. Originally under local ownership when launched as KBVO in 1983.
