KASE's worst book since Spring 2005. :D

Notice that CC had five down books? (and KHFI was only up .2) But it looks like Emmis was down on every station and Entercom on most of theirs, too. A heavy Hispanic book, it appears.

KASE just doesnt sound good any more. I like KIX108 better than them, I guess Sammy's firings didnt hurt KVET much.

BMP went to Arbitron and got them to change the way the weight the diaries - exacly what they did a year ago when KHHL was #1.. Couple that with Arbitron looking the other way while they went on air to tell their audience how to fill out a diary, and you have these ratings.

Arbitron is a *bleep*ing joke.

Another amusing Arbitron anecdote: I worked in the Valley back in the 70s when KGBT 1530 was king with a 33 share. KGBT was one of a handful of stations in the market that actually subscribed to Arbitron. Then they had a dispute with them and cancelled their contract. The following book they had a 24 share. Bummer.

There has been no change in the way Arbitron applies weighting since they began in 1965. Weighting is used to adjust an under- or ove-sample into 100% proportionality and that is it. No group, age, gender, county, etc., is over or under represented in the survey.

If a statiion does any methodology mentions on the air, the only way Arbitron can remedy it is if another station documents it and submits the information to Arbitron where the "ratings bias and distortion" rules may apply.

The only problem in Austin is sample size, but the methodology is sound and MRC accredited.
