amazing a station like Hot 93.3 only has a 3.6

Really, it isn't at all... and i'm not slamming the station - but there are a million reasons why Hot doesn't have better ratings.. Love that Arbitron!

...and I should add that they aren't the only ones effected by Arbitron's methods....

Whatever "arbitrons methods" mean, I dont know. However, I do know that at one time, HOT was a very successful hip-hop station. And guess what arbitron was still using the same "methods" then.

Hot has a bad morning show. bad follow-up talent. and the music selection isnt great.

And they are getting beat by a 2,500 watt station (beat 104.9) with an even worse morning show, but with better music and after personalities.

All i mean is that you can't rely on arbitron to be accurate - the way that they weigh their data is very arbitrary sometimes - ie, if they only poll two hispanic 18-34 females, and they both listen to hot, then they assume that every single hispanic 18-34 female in the market listens to hot... Kind of convaluted..

Also keep in mind that these are 12+ ratings, and no station (except #1) really puts stock in them.. Its all about specific demographics...
