For the record, and in a totally pedantic mood... :-[

KLQB and KHHL are "Regional Mexican"

KXXS and KHZS are "Pop" and "Spanish hot AC" respectively.

KTXZ is, per reports, Tejano.

KFON is supposedly Nortena/o, although I was told it was now Spanish adult hits.

Spanish is a language, not a format.

Careful... someone is going to tell you English is the official langauge of the US... which, of course, it isn't. :)

You are correct. The United States does not have an official language.

However, the following countries do: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela, where the official language is..................Spanish.

(Some of the countries have other indigenous languages recognized as official.)

Interestingly, Mexico DOES NOT have an official language.

But there is some irony at work.

Yes, Paraguay recognizes Guaraní, Bolivia does with Aymará. Peru and Ecuador recognize Quechua (a hard langauge to learn as an adult... I tried as a number of my employees only spoke that language or spoke Spanish badly).

Puerto Rico, USA, recognizes English and Spanish as official languages, much as many states in the US have recognized only English.

But-- Mexico does support indigenous people with a public radio system, each station broadcasting in the local dialect. And the stations now stream on the web for their people to hear wherever they may travel.

But now we've strayed awful far from the initial subject which was Austin's ratings. Does sports radio make money in Austin? Are they compensated by the networks?

when espn first started, i used to listen to it in the mornings. now mostly go from bob-fm, kono 860 san antonio, kkyx 680 san antonio and sometimes jack in cameron,tx (bryan-college station).
