Automated Voice on WSRS

I've noticed that lately, often at the end of a song on 96.1 WSRS, an automated female voice will announce the artist and title of that song. Is this a new Clear Channel thing? Are any other stations doing this?

Was the voice announcing a new song? (Or at least new to WSRS, as I doubt they take chances on anything "new"). I've heard the image voice on stations like WXLO pumping up a new song, making sure the audience knows the title and artist. So, maybe that's what's going on at WSRS.

Are you sure it's not Donna Mac? She's the midday personality who replaced Bruce Palmer.

It's not before the song, it's AFTER the song. And they do it with songs, new and old. Maybe it's Donna Mac, but it goes on all day. It's not live.

If Donna is capable of altering her voice (either electronically or assuming a different vocal identity)...the possibility of the automated voice being HER is certainly possible?

Perhaps this is another cost-cutting measure by radio stations who often have sales, copywriting and on-air work done by the same person, but for only one paycheck! :-*

Ah geez, more jobs lost!

Don't you wish YOU were the person hired for 411.

"Hello_____Please tell me the city and state you are looking for?"
"OK, now please tell me the name of the business or person you would like to speak to?"
"I'm sorry, please repeat that!!!"

What a great gig. :D

They're called "songtags"...a great idea for current-based radio stations (much better than "get the last 10 songs played at Kiss108.com...big help if I'm in the car, geeks.) Not sure how well it works on AC, though.

Radio: "Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, I've Had The Time Of My Life"

Me: "Really? I had no idea." [/sarcasm]
