Avi Nelson

Anyone besides me think Avi Nelson was a bit rusty? Maybe he needs to bring Hubie Jones in as a guest tommorow.

great for the all-important 75 + demo

Anyone else hear the segment lamenting the decline of proper grammar in America? That English is a great language and we must fight to save it? It was just a little bit of a departure from the Howie Carr repertoire.

I thought liberals were the embodiment of the elite intelligentsia; all that is wrong with America. Don't get me wrong, I love good grammar as much as the next person! It's just quite a leap to go from concerns about a fat lesbian taking up too much air time during a gubernatorial debate to whether the speaker is the subject or object in a sentence.

WRKO is really branching out.

why can't boston do better??

Yes, I heard that. The closest Howie has gotten to that is "dumbing down of America". Howie's pronunciation
is a bit suspect (but he's a lot easier to understand than the mayor...) "WESS-consin", "SERRA-kyoose",
"Clapsed" (for "Wisconsin", "Syracuse", "collapsed")

A salesman shows up at a house and a boy answers. "Could I speak to your mom or dad, young man?,"
he asks.

"They was in before but they is out now," he replies.

"They was in! They is out! Where's your grammar?"

"Out in the kitchen making cookies."

As for the person who got in trouble for that comment you mentioned, he is now filling in on WABeatleC
mornings the rest of this week and on the Prov. board it's said he could well be coming back to
WHJJ...Cranston Johnny D, back home again...

missed this historic moment. Anyone have any air checks? Is it worth listening to?
