Awesome ES event in Southern Michigan- 6/7/12

I noticed the Es shortly after 6:00. It stayed strong until a little bit before 8:00. When all was said and done, I had 22 new logs from three new states, bringing my total to 1,897 logs from 43 states!! I had some fairly short skip to Boston, Providence, RI and even Albany, NY before it moved northeast and became very long single hop to Cape Breton and Sydney, NS. Here's a look at my new logs!

88.9- WERS- Boston, MA- Public Radio- WERS (with HD lock!) NEW #1876
89.1- WEVO- Concord, NH- Public Radio- WEVO (with HD lock!) NEW #1877- NH #1 (STATE #41!)

104.7- CBCH- Charlottetown, PEI- CBC Radio One- (same as 103.1 and 105.1 above) #1897

UNID's-
90.7- WGCC- Batavia, NY- The call letters sounded the same, but the music didn't match on the webstream. If this was indeed WGCC I was hearing, it would have been my shortest skip ever, at 356 miles. Upon further inspection, I see a WTCC in Springfield, MA, which makes this far more likely for Es, but it's too late to positively ID this.

93.9- Boston Red Sox- Two affiliates in Vermont, so I can't positively log either one of them.
103.5- Caribbean music- Could this be a Boston pirate? I know there's a 103.3 in Boston, but those pirates don't always use common sense when finding a frequency.

This is a look at my Es opening from the evening of 6-10-12. I figured rather than make a whole new thread about this opening that i'd tack it on to the 6-7-12 post.

This opening had two separate clouds. The first bringing Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico into Southern Michigan. And a another one into the Maritimes and the Northeast. Bringing even more skip to my region. The skip started just before 6:00 PM and ended a little after 9:00 PM.

92.3- CBAF-FM5- Halifax, NS- Premiere Chaine- French- Webstream- #1899

89.1- KYCU- Clinton, OK- Public Radio/KCCU- #1900
89.1- KTTZ- Lubbock, TX- Public Radio, call letter mentions- Mixing with KYCU- #1901
94.1- KZRR- Albuquerque, NM- Rock- webstream match- (Over local WVIC!)- #1902
99.5- KMGA- Albuquerque, NM- AC- 99.5 Magic FM- #1903
102.9- KRGN- Amarillo, TX- Religious- Family Life Radio- #1904
98.7- KPRF- Amarillo, TX- Variety- Jack FM- song match- #1905
98.3- KXDJ- Spearman, TX- Country- local mentions and call letters- #1906

93.7- WRMO- Milbridge, ME- Standards- 'WRMO' RDS ID- #1908
88.3- WYAR- Yarmouth, ME- 'Heritage Radio' and call letters- #1909
88.7- WRVT- Rutland, VT- Public Radio/Vermont Public Radio and multi-ID's- #1910
93.9- WMXR- Woodstock, VT- Classic Rock- webstream match- #1911
94.5- CJRG- Gaspe, QC- French- Radio Gaspesie- webstream match- #1912
93.9- CIKI-FM2- Sainte-Marie-De-Blandford, QC- NRJ Radio- webstream match, only match on 93.9- #1913 (750 watts!!)
88.5- CBME- Montreal, QC- Public Radio- CBC Radio One- Montreal and Quebec City mentions- #1914
89.1- CJBR- Rimouski, QC- Public Radio- Premiere Chaine- I had Premiere Chaine stations on 88.7, 89.1, 89.3 and 92.5, but those other frequencies had several repeaters on them, so this was the only one I could positively ID- #1915
100.3- WHEB- Portsmouth, NH- Rock- 'WHEB' HD LOCK over local WLKI- #1916

Several people in the east and the south continued to have skip well into the night. The reason why I didn't get this skip is because the cloud was right over EN71. But still, 19 new logs is nothing to be ashamed of!
