Ax Drops at Entercom

Scott Rogers out as sales manager at WXNT. More to come?

I would hardly call it the ax dropping. From what I have heard Scott has chosen to leave Entercom to pursue a career in commercial real estate. That being the case, I wouldn't look for major changes at WXNT since Scott left on his own to make a career change. Good Luck to Scott Rogers in his new field.

Scott was also the sales manger for WZPL. If it was an ax-dropping it probably had more to do with that station than WXNT. But who knows. Well, someone knows, I'm sure. :)

in radio spelling isn't as important as conveying the message! Speaking of messages, are the signs up at Entercom?

The signs are up; apparently they are paying a finders fee for sales people: $200 if you find a salesperson for the Track and they are hired, $500 if they stay 3 months, and $1000 if they stay a year.

Bounty for sales people. What kind of sign is that?

I think entercom needs to buy at least one more station in town if they're going to be more of a factor... klu seems like a good fit for them...

What if a sales rep applys for himself/herself and is hired? Will he/she receive a $1000 bonus if they stay a year? The signs are up; apparently they are paying a finders fee for sales people: $200 if you find a salesperson for the Track and they are hired, $500 if they stay 3 months, and $1000 if they stay a year.

There's always the possibility he was "asked to resign" or felt that real estate would be a "better fit" professionally. My question is: Who will be "resigning" next over there? The other sales rumor I heard is that, besides the signs, they've been trying to recruit people from Cumulus and Emmis..........

That's a "rumor?" :DThat goes on all the time - Entercom tries to recruit from them as much as they try to recruit from Entercom and all the other clusters. That's like saying "I heard a rumor that Emmis's stations are going to continue to stay on the air!"hehe....Hey, I got a rumor... The sales staff from Clear Channel is out trying to get new advertisers! And Cumulus is trying to raise their rates! Shhh! Don't tell anyone! ;)

"The sales staff from Clear Channel is out trying to get new advertisers!"
"That is an unfounded rumor. They just wait for orders to be faxed in."

Ouch! ;)

How is the recruiting from Cumulus going for Entercom? I would think they'll have a lot better chance of succeeding there than Emmis.

Actually, over the last couple of years.....Emmis has done a great job recruiting from Entercom and Susquehana.

However, Emmis vs. Clear Channel has had all the excitement of a World Cup Match......I think the score there is 1 to 1 and it was the same person being recruited away both times.
