HUGE KEY DEMO GROWTH!
Triple-digit increases as high as 400% in prime
AZ-TV (KAZT, Channel 27/Cable 13) continued its huge demographic gains in the May, 2007 Nielsen sweeps.
In primetime (7:00-10:00 PM), AZ-TV gained 400% in Men 18+, 250% in persons 35-64 and 200% in Persons 18-49, Men 18-49 and Men 25-54 compared to the May, 2006 sweeps.
Triple-digit increases were also common in the individual shows that make up AZ-TV’s primetime, with Frasier seeing a 200% jump in Men 18+ and Men 18-49, a 175% increase in Persons 35-64, a 150% jump in Persons 18-49 and a 133% increase in Women 18-49. According To Jim saw an impressive 600% increase in Persons 35-64, 400% in Men 18-49, 300% in Men 25-54 and Persons 18+ and 200% in Persons 18-49 and Persons 25-54.
“The gains are in the demographic sweet spot.” said Ron Bergamo, AZ-TV General Manager. “18-49 and 25-54 are the most coveted demographics for ad agencies and time buyers…and 35-64 encompasses the huge generation of Baby Boomers.”
“The huge growth in these demographics paints a vivid picture of how more and more people in the demographics that matter most are watching AZ-TV.” said Michael Hagerty, AZ-TV Director of Programming and Promotion. “It gets better with each year and will continue to as we evolve.”
More comedy is on the way to AZ-TV this year, as George Lopez debuts in primetime and Reno 911! and Chappelle’s Show premiere in late fringe on September 10. Additionally, AZ-TV will move into morning news programming on September 3 with The Daily Buzz, a fast-paced news, information and entertainment show with great appeal for young adult viewers.
AZ-TV is Arizona’s only locally-owned television station, part of Londen Media Group, featuring a unique mix of locally-produced programs (The Pat McMahon Show, AM Arizona with Tonya Mock and Lew Rees, Autoshow with Michael Hagerty, Arizona Backroads with Marshall Trimble), NHL Phoenix Coyotes Hockey, D-Backs Playin’ Hardball, Maximum Cardinals and classic comedies of yesterday and today (The Andy Griffith Show, The Brady Bunch, My Wife & Kids, Married…With Children, Cheers, According To Jim and Frasier).
