JEFF BURNTON PROMOTED TO GM OF AZ-TV
Was Acting General Manager Since January

Londen Media Group owner Jack Londen today removed the word “acting” from the General Manager title held by Jeff Burnton since January 11, days after the tragic death of AZ-TV (KAZT, Channel 7/Cable 13) co-founder and General Manager Ron Bergamo.

Burnton was hired as AZ-TV’s Sales Manager just three working days before the traffic accident that claimed Bergamo’s life. With his background in sales management for Cox Media and KPNX, Channel 12, Burnton’s resume’ made a strong case for his stepping into the General Manager position on an interim basis.

“We feel doubly blessed by the fact that Ron Bergamo essentially picked Jeff as his successor”, said Mr. Londen. “Jeff has pleased us in every way and we predict a super future because of him.”

Jeff graduated from the University of Wisconsin, worked as a rep in Chicago and L.A. for Blair Television and has five children. He’s been a Phoenix resident since 1991.

AZ-TV is Arizona’s only locally-owned television station, a division of Londen Media Group. Since its launch in April, 2002, AZ-TV has led the way in classic and contemporary comedy (George Lopez, According To Jim, My Wife & Kids, Frasier, Married…With Children, Cheers, The Brady Bunch, The Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy) and in 2008, will diversify to include talk (Montel) and court shows (Judge Maria Lopez, Judge Karen) as well as strengthening its comedy lineup with the acquisition of M*A*S*H. AZ-TV reaches more than 1.8 million households over the air, on cable and on DIRECTV and Dish Network satellite, as well as a global audience online at www.arizonasown.com. KAZT-DT 7.2 launches in 2008 with programming from RTN-The Retro Television Network.
