AZN-TV to sign off 4/9

AZN-TV, The Network for Asian America is going off Comcast cable grids everywhere.

I'm really mad! I LOVE this channel...and I'm not Asian either.....

Anyone know what they plan to replace it with?......

All I know is better not get any calls from Comcast telling me about any of their wonderful new movie or sports packages...not for a LONG time....

It mystifies me why they couldn't make it seeing the growing and diverse nature of the Asian communities in the U.S. Sounds like their sales/marketing efforts were terribly mismanaged.

According to their website, they are owned/operated by Comcast.

I wonder if there was just too much competition for that demographic. Even Comcast's own international service shows several Asian pay channels. And, many Asian-Americans have FTA dishes, where they find far more free TV than they ever would on pay-Cable or pay-DBS.

It's too bad that they won't cut a deal to let ImaginAsian TV (or another similar network) take over the distribution that AZN TV had across Comcast systems. Why not even give Comcast a small part of ownership in IATV?
