The "Telemundo" name started in Puerto Rico in the 1950's because WKAQ-TV was put on the air by El Mundo newspaper which also operated WKAQ (AM), Radio El Mundo.

Azteca América Will Cease Operations After 22 Years

No the Black community is larger. And that is just the radio market... the TV market is much larger geographically but is still 9% Hispanic and 12% Black.

I was giving what KC has at moment and yes Sprectrum has all of those National Feed and KUKC. Also no Heroes and Icons yet on either KMBC/KCWE but at least National Feed Sprectrum/Mediacom here.
KYAZ-TV Katy, TX channel 51.3 had carried Azteca in the past, possibly a stipulation of Weigel buying the station, (but not sure). Azteca TV went off the air without any fanfare or explanation, and was replaced with a duplicate feed of METV Plus. KYAZ carries METV on 51.1 and METV plus on 51.2 and 51.3, and Story Television on 51.4
Why no Decades
Decades is on the FOX O&O station(KRIV) on 26.2, though I didn't mention in my original post, Weigel broadcasting does have a 51.12, which is some kind of home shopping, I guess it could be called a revenue stream lol, maybe Weigel will be adding their additional channels as local contracts expire, but that is just speculation on my part.
Also Fox and Weigel are partners in "Movies!"
in the Dallas-Fort Worth Market, there was a warning sign Azteca America was doomed when it was removed from the main 55.1 channel of KAZD after Weigel bought the station out, Weigel made a deal with Charter Communications to allow it's Spectrum New 1 channel that is for their Dallas-Fort Worth Spectrum cable systems air on that channel in a simulcast with the local news channel on the Spectrum, they moved it to 55.3, however with the end of Azteca America as a network, 55.3 has become a simulcast of what's on 55.4 which is Weigel's in house MeTV Plus network.
KAZD sibling KYAZ in Houston had carried Azteca for a number of years on its 51.1 channel. When Weigel bought KYAZ (along with KAZD) Azteca was moved to 51.3 with MeTV going on 51.1 and MeTV Plus on 51.2. Eventually Story went on 51.4, and infomercials on 51.12. With the demise of Azteca 51.3 has been demapped from the signal with everything else staying as is.
In Los Angeles, Azteca América was on 3 different stations throughout the network’s history. It originally launched on KAZA (now owned by Weigel and carrying MeTV on 54-1 and Story Television on 54-2), before moving at the beginning of 2018 to KJLA 57-1 (now affiliated with Visión Latina TV), then ultimately ended up on KWHY 22-2 for the network’s last year of operation. Since the network’s shutdown, 22-2 has been a simulcast of 22-1.
Meanwhile, on Spectrum where I am, since about a week before the network actually ceased operations, its channel 1289 slot has shown a static slide reading, “Programming on this network is no longer available. La programación en esta estación ya no está disponible.” The program information for this channel in the EPG says, “Fuera del aire.” (Spanish for “Off the air.”)

Ironically, immediately before Azteca America's shutdown, a caller to one of the local radio morning talk shows in my area (Springfield, IL) made reference to AA program "Al Extremo" in his call on the last show of 2022. When he talked about being able to get about 37 channels OTA and no need for cable, one of them was W23EW-D, which formerly carried Azteca on virtual 41.1. He talked about how he had gotten hooked onto Al Extremo and how everything was unedited.
