B 96 HD 2/Chicago Playlist

I discovered this channel is on Winamp's AOL Radio and I was wondering where can you get a playlist since the stream doesn't do so. I heard some dance tracks or different verisons of songs that I liked. (but i still like ipartyradio.com better)

Im not a big fan of Iboc or HD,,, But I would rather them play some of these songs on their main station instead of just on HD-2,, I actually know a few people that have HD radios in their cars now, and you have to go through a major procedure to get the HD band to come up, and most people dont know how to do that or just dont care.. Lack of public interest and the Cost to maintain these jukebox channels and the Iboc Engineers, it wont last more than a few more years, or else it will take off really well if they figure out how to get any decent coverage outside of the limited range they have, without causing more sideband interference... BTW,, Im sorry I didnt answer your question, but you would be better off Emailing B-96 for maybe their top 20 on their HD-2 and they may or may not grant your wish.. While your at it, tell them you would like to hear more Dance music on the main channel,,,, They are playing some dance and remixes already, and alot of the DJs that used to mix Dance back in the day, are now playing House/Electro/ and Progressive and Euro like the old days...

Agreed

I have an HD reciver in my car and I think it real easy on my radio. Just find the regular station (for me 94.5, WRVQ-Q94, Richmond, VA), then the call letters will come up WRVQ-HD1 and simply hit the up or down button and you easily get WRVQ-HD 2 comes up. I have JVC HD radio.

If the station is HD but no sub channels it would only state WMXB-HD (Mix 1037, Richmond, VA) and if the station sends info but not it in HD or you are too far away for the HD to be picked up it states WRVQ-FM or WMXB-FM.

I think it real easy, but what I hate is you cannot put the HD 2 stations in memory, so you have to the main channel on memory then when HD clicks in (only takes a second or 2) then hit up or down botton to go through the sub channels

This (link below) is the website for the HD2 Dance station (WBBM-FM-96.3 HD2 Chicago, IL)...more of a blog, really...unfortunately no playlist info. And I haven't found any thru other sites. There is a "contact us" link at the bottom of the page in addition to the blog; maybe try both & see if you have luck convincing them to add a playlist to the site or at least a "song history/last song played" feature.

I agree, pretty easy to use, my only issue is when you lose the signal on the HD-2/3 stations it's worse than a CD skipping.
By the way, saving the HD2 stations in memory depends on what receiver you have. My car radio saves the HD2 stations. Quite a large of number of receivers will save the hd2 stations these days.

I would think that B-96 HD-2 would be hard to pull in well, cause B-96 just doesnt seem nearly as powerful as most the other Chicago stations on the same Sears tower, and adjacent high rises.. I mean its fine for an analog signal, but I dont think the HD part would cover the whole metro, if your going south on I-65 B-96 fades out way before other stations like 94.7 WLS Super Oldies, and Kiss 103.5, Jack 104.3, Love fm 100.3, V-103 and even GCI 107.5 all seem to get out about 20 to 30 miles farther than B-96,,, Ive never understood this because B-96 is up just as high or higher, and has equal or more power than some of the other stations that get out farther... Sometimes WAZY Z-96.5 in Lafayette will start squashing out B-96s signal just 50 miles past downtown and just slightly past Merrilville, .... Merrilville is in Indiana about 43 miles from downtown and pretty much marks the end of the Greater Chicago Metro,, Including Gary and Hamond and all those Steel Worker towns up there putting that smelly smoke in the air...lol The Modern Rocker Q 101 isnt quite as powerful as the other stations either, it usually starts getting static around Crown Point.. If your not familier with that area that I cant explain it to you.
